With a gamepad

Any standard controller (Xbox, PlayStation, Switch Pro) plugged in or paired over Bluetooth works; press a button on it once the page is open. On a PlayStation pad, A is Cross, B Circle, X Square and Y Triangle.

Go faster

Hold Space through a turn to drift. Sparks go blue, then orange — let go for a mini-turbo. Orange Hi-Fry pads give you a boost, and flooring it right as the lights go green gets you a rocket start. Tuck in behind another kart for two seconds to catch its slipstream.

Meatball Bowl

Space jumps, and again in the air flips you into the meatball. Hold E to boost (orange pads refill it); C switches the ball cam. Keep your speed up to drive up the walls and across the roof.

Golden Crispinator

Win the Grand Prix on every track on Hard-boiled and your Crispinator turns solid gold, with every stat maxed out. Once it's yours, it's gold in every mode.

Items

• Hi-Fry Turbo A burst of speed.
• Olive Oil Pour it out behind you. Anyone who drives through it spins out, and it stops meatballs dead. Hold the item button to keep it trailing behind you as a shield.
• Meatball Rolls ahead and homes in on the next kart. Press Q to roll it back at whoever's behind you: slower, and straight.
• Ghost Pepper Three and a half seconds of flaming speed. It won't protect you, though: oil, meatballs and nuggets still wipe you out.
• Nugget Shield Three nuggets spin round your kart until they're used. Anyone who runs into one spins out, and they stop meatballs. Press E to fire one ahead or Q back: it flies straight and bounces off walls.
• Rainbow Sprinkles Six and a half seconds of rainbow speed with a sparkly trail. Nothing can touch you, and you spin out anyone you bump.
• Meatball Trio Three meatballs roll round your kart on the road. Like the nuggets they shield you: they stop meatballs, nuggets and Baconrangs, and anyone who drives into one gets knocked flying. Press E to fire one ahead: each homes in on the next-closest kart. Press Q to roll one back like a regular meatball.
• Baconrang A strip of bacon you throw about six kart lengths ahead: it spins out, spins back, and anyone in its way spins out. Catch it and throw it again; after two throws it's gone. Press Q to fling it behind you instead (it won't come back).

Pop Battle

Five balloons each. Meatballs, oil and nuggets pop them; boost into someone with a Turbo to steal one. +1 for every pop or steal, −1 for every balloon you lose. Most points in three minutes wins.
